3 months ago the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) voted to adopt the report prepared by Special Rapporteur Pieter Omtzigt, with an overwhelming majority of 72 to 18 with 3 abstentions.
The Council of Europe gave the Government of Malta 3 months to open a public inquiry to investigate whether the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia could have been prevented.
The Government of Malta has 10 days left to open this public inquiry.
Malta is the first EU Member State to be subjected to the scrutiny of a Special Rapporteur.
